The drama class!
On week 3 and 4 the highschool students of sunrise school have been
following an intensive drama workshop, with a professional drama teacher:
Mr. Marco.
His job was to teach us drama’s bases, including acting, patience, expressing
inner thoughts and focusing.
For some of the highschools, Marco’s teaching technique was difficult to put
in use as it asked from them to say things that they thought to be
embarrassing.
After a hard start, Mr. Marco divided the highschools in two different groups.
One group would do some concentration moves while the other group tried
to show what acting was to them.
But they rapidly understand that without Marco’s help and support to
suggest them ideas and techniques, they couldn’t find a correct theme for
their acting. They tried but after a few days they were discouraged and
finally decided to quit.
Our perspective
We personally think that Marco’s methods were strange at the beginning but
after few days and more thinking, we figured out that the exercises he had
made us do had a relation with acting.
Mr. Marco’s objective was to get us to know each other better.
Some of us think that it was hard all way long.
But we think that we have learned, if not drama, to express ourselves with
confidence.
We would like to thank Mr. Marco and Miss Susan for all their efforts and
patience.
Sincerely,
Sean O’malley and Tom Richard.
