All the recent fires in Indonesia have brought attention to a serious ongoing problem. Palm oil is causing environmental disaster! We can stop this by not supporting companies that support palm oil. Living here in Indonesia, this seems particularly difficult as it seems to be in everything. However, we would like to help to make a start. A group of kids in Bali have started the below initiative. Please support it by bringing in any products that you can find in your house that contain palm oil (PLEASE don't go and buy new ones) and bring them into school. There is a collection box in the canteen. We will be collecting for the month of November. We will then upload images of these products we can be more mindful in what we buy.
On 30 November, please wear orange to show your support.
This is a great cause and we are running our of time. There are many endangered animals (like orangutans, rhinos, elephants, lions and monkeys - but to name a few) that are relying on us to ensure that we are not the last generation to see them.
Please be aware that palm oil is disguised under many names.
