YES Bog by Ashanti and Leyla
My favorite memory was the last night, where we had a party with all of the kids
from the conference and we all danced together on the stage with music. It was
very fun and memorable. It was also nice to meet so many new people from so
many different places.
The wetlands activity was great and educational. We had a good time walking
around the wetland land zone seeing all kind of things we haven’t seen before,
like the monitor lizard and mud skippers.
The Charis Mission was a fabulous place to stay. It was very clean except the
toilets and showers. There were only three toilets/showers so we had to wait a
long time for our turn. We had two rooms. One room for the girls and one for the
boys, which we shared with other kids from the conference. There were around
16 people in each room with bunk beds. Our bed time was 10pm.
We went to China Town to go to this Buddhist temple which was amazing. After
we visited the temple, we had a little bit of free time to walk around China Town
like tourists. Some of us bought things like selfie sticks, chop sticks, earphones
and food.
NEWater is a place that we went to on the first day, the technology was high-tech
they also use their high-tech to convert sea water and dirty water into fresh and
drinkable water. At the end of the presentation and tour, they gave us all a free
bottle of NEWater. Most of the students didn’t like it, or said it tasted strange.
One thing that we all did and enjoyed in Singapore is buying food like candy,
chocolate and chips to eat and take back Bali because they don’t sell them in Bali.
A lot of us bought Nerds, Warheads, Mars Bars, Crunchies, M&Ms, Skittles,
Doritos and Salt & Vinegar Chips.
On the last day at the conference, each school had to prepare and present an eco-
friendly business idea. We used our school for our idea. We drew a big map of the
school and we sucked. It was very embarrassing and we failed. How? What do you
think we should have done?
